Talk about an interesting dress to put together. I really enjoyed making this dress. I had some bumps and bruises along the way, but it was still good.

When making V8808, I knew that I wanted to mix and match patterns. I loved the collar and the paneled look of the dress. However, I did not want the flare at the bottom. So, very unscientifically--perhaps you can tell--I trimmed the pattern down toward the bottom. It puckered a little, but did not flare. I really think the puckering was from my skirt being a little on the fitted side in the hip area.

I also wanted sleeves because it was a little chilly out. So, I added some great moto like sleeves, but with the fabric that I used (a lipstick red knit from Mood Fabrics) it was too uncomfortable, but cute. So I cut half of the sleeves off and added what you see here.

I also added an exposed black and gold zipper to the back, which I really loved. It really commanded attention because of the color and the design--one of a kind. It was frustrating making this because it seemed to never come out the way that I wanted it to. But after all of the changes and alterations, I loved it.
