It goes without saying, my version of Donna Karen's Vogue pattern 1341 does not look like it was intended. Nonetheless, I still LOVE my dress. I have a few alterations to make, but I love it. I want to sew it up a little more by the arm sleeve so that undergarments cannot be seen. I also want to undo the back of the dress so that it can lay properly on my sholders. You are not able to fully appreciate the tuck and pleats as a result of this.

I am a beginning sewer, as of December 25, 2015. Therefore, my garments and sewing skills are, let's say, coming along. I do not know why I attempted such a difficult pattern, but I did and I love it. I plan to make the adjustments and wear it again. I can't wait to see my sewing skills evolve over the years.

I used a black suba kint for this project and I think it was perfect. I ordered some Donna Karen wool jersey from Mood fabrics with this dress in mind, but I failed to realize that the fabric was 40" versus 60" and I could not use it. I only have two yards and I am still search for a project.

I am intrigued by this dress and can't wait to take some of the pieces apart to put it back together once again. Look for the update with the dress alterations in a few weeks. Something about those back pieces...

I tried to make this picture far away on purpose...
