Culottes! Who doesn't love a cute pair of free and non-restrictive culottes? While I have actually purchased a many of these, I probably like these the most even though I am not that satisfied with them. In particular, I love the length of them and the concept of a fitted waist and mega flared legs. To me, it seem to resemble something that Victoria Beckham would wear--the culottes that is.

After initially cutting the size 16 of this pattern, they kept falling down on my waist. I went back and, with the exception of the pockets, sewed about an extra inch in at the two front seams and the two back seams into the waist. I guess you can think of it like giant darts at the waist.
I wanted a thicker waistband in terms of size, so I made the width bigger. Because of where the waist sits, the waist was not as large as I would have liked. I envisioned wearing this with a really cute crop top. I am still waiting to make one appropriate for this.
All-in-all, while I would not sew this again, I would still wear them. If I did, I would probably cut a size 12 for them to fit the way I would want them to.
