I absolutely loved this dress. I wanted something cute and floral and definitely Maxi. I decided on Vogue patter 9021 because I loved the bodice, but I wanted a different maxi skirt. I could have accomplished this with the other pattern, but why make all the alterations to the pattern when I could just use another one. I used the bottom of McCall's 7121.

About the bodice: The bodice was constructed by cutting the back on the fold and the front cut in two pieces rather than on the fold. Also, I completely lined the bodice rather than using the strips called for on just the edges because I was going for a different look and feel. I also added a side zipper. This was ONLY because I cut the back on the fold by accident.

About the skirt: I made the skirt almost as is (I think) from the McCall's pattern. I did move the split down some. It was really high for my tastes. I was going for more modesty. I know when I would sit down that the split would come up really high on my legs.

About the fabric: Because I am a beginner, I am still learning about fabrics. I don't know how to order online and I am not always sure about what I was getting. Let's just say that I thought this fabric would be different than what it is. I ended up loving it, but it took me about a month before I could figure out what I was going to make with this. It was an event that I wanted to wear red to, so here you have it. I definitely think I will make this again.
