...That you haven't thought about.
Is It Necessary?

Yes! Whether your marriage is a little rocky right now, boring, vibrant, or even hostile, yes it is necessary to do all that you can to bring happiness to your spouse’s life—not make or keep them happy, but bring happiness. If you don’t have the desire to do anything for your spouse, I pray that the Lord will restore the passion and fervor in your marriage and that your love for one another would grow and supersede any expectations that you either of you have ever had. It is possible. If you want me to pray for you or with you, I would be happy to—just let me know.
Romantic Painting with a Twist
Turn your home into a cozy, romantic space for you and your husband/wife. This night will be sure to fan the flame, light the fire, or rekindle the magic between you and your husband. Think outside the box, different, special, and necessary. Consider surprising your spouse with a night that the two of you will remember forever.
Where: Identify a space in your house where you can set-up two canvases and easels and light refreshments.
Attire: Most important, wear confidence. Then, find something that you are comfortable, but feel sexy in. Appeal to your spouse’s tastes (i.e., a certain color, hairstyle, shoe height, style of dress, etc). This evening, you are aiming to please and it is okay to submit to someone else’s desires without changing who you are—for one night (compromise). Remember, this is sexy and private, so use your imagination.
Atmosphere: Play soft music that appeal to you and your spouse. If that is jazz, then do that. If it is the blues, then do that. Remember, set the mood and take the time to set it up beforehand. If possible, try to dim the lights a tad. Candlelight is optional, but highly recommended. Provide some refreshments (make them or pick them up) that are easy to feed with hands (e.g., strawberries, mini cheesecake bites, cocktail shrimp, etc.). Set-up the canvases and the easels so that you and your spouse are sitting across from one another—not able to see the other’s canvas.
What to do: The instructions are simple, paint a portrait on a blank canvas that represents the other person. Sign the symbolic painting. Showcase and describe the painting to one another, being sure to highlight what about that person inspires you and what you love about that person. For the showcase or presentation, title it and make it a big reveal when finished. Look into that persons eyes nonstop when describing them and the inspiration for the painting. Don’t worry about skill—this is all about heart. See how far you are able to get after the reveal, if you know what I mean.
Time Investment: It doesn’t matter. Do what it takes for the one you love. You never know if they will be here tomorrow.
